Please note: The process can take from  8 to 12 weeks especially during our busy periods so please ensure you apply in time.   

Renewal and Application are the same.

Complete the process below to apply or renew your licence at least 3 months before it expires. There is a charge to renew:

  • £10 for a volunteer chaperone + £25 for the NSPCC's Chaperone Training course 
  • £10 for a Professional chaperone + £25 for the NSPCC's Chaperone Training course + £38 for the DBS Fee.

(A volunteer provides their service for free (apart from expenses) so their Enhanced DBS check is free of charge. The Professional receives payment for their service and therefore the Enhanced DBS will cost £38.00.

It is illegal to use your free of charge DBS certificate to earn any form of income.)

Online training

You need to complete the NSPCC’s Protecting Children in Entertainment Training for Chaperones. This course costs £25.
