Opening hours

The core opening hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Please contact the office to make an appointment before your visit.


The register office is situated in the Town Hall at the top of Grove Road, next to the former Police Station building.


There is no car park available at the register office. On-street metered parking may be available nearby. The nearest town centre car park is the railway station car park, which has designated disabled spaces.

Ceremony rooms

There are three ceremony rooms at Eastbourne Register Office:

  • The Mayors’ Reception Room – maximum 30 guests, mainly standing.
  • The Court Room – seats up to 60 guests and can accommodate up to 100.
  • The Council Chamber – seats up to 60 guests.

Both the Mayor’s Reception Room and the Council Chamber are situated on the first floor of the building. There is a small lift suitable only for small non-motorised wheelchairs. The Court Room is fully accessible on the Ground Floor.

The Superintendent Registrar’s Office is also licenced for statutory marriages. However, this is a working office with a PC and phone, and is only available Tuesday mornings at 9.30am and 10am. This room will only accommodate the couple and two witnesses.
