The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a large countywide alternative provision, and a vocational free school within East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

St Mary’s School, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is a 'Good' special school in Horam. As one of three special schools within the Trust, we make provision for children and young people with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs, all of whom have an Education Health Care plan (EHCP). We are ambitious in our drive to improve outcomes for all our learners. St Mary’s School offers the right candidate the opportunity to work in a lively, industrious environment.

We are seeking to appoint an innovative, enthusiastic and effective practitioner with empathy towards children with SEN – in particular SEMH. We require an experienced practitioner to lead Food and Nutrition across the school. The lead practitioner will plan and support the delivery of all lessons involving food across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent and inspirational team player who would like to be part of, and contribute to, a dedicated and forward thinking School.

Although experience of working in Special Education is not essential for this post, you should be able to demonstrate an approach to curriculum delivery that is exciting and innovative, while also being sensitive to the needs of our pupils.

The successful candidate will be joining a Trust and school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued. The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust are also committed to professional development and have strong induction, ECT and unqualified teacher programmes.

We strongly encourage you to visit our school and if you would like to see us prior to submitting an application please contact Rachel Wright to arrange a visit.  Alternatively, if you wish to have an informal discussion with Paul Murphy, Principal, Principal, this can also be arranged.
