1 – 3 miles

Wellingham Walk – 1.5 miles
A short walk to the north of Lewes, with easy level walking across fields with some stiles.

Chiddingly Walk – 2 miles
Easy, generally level walking with some stiles.

Hellingly Walk – 2 miles
A Cuckoo Trail based walk across farmland and through the village of Hellingly.

Ripe – 2.5 miles
An easy walk along country lanes and across fields with a few stiles.

Danehill Walk – 3 miles
A country walk through heathland and wooded valleys on the edge of Ashdown Forest.

Playden Walk – 3 miles
A generally easy walk, with few stiles, but some hilly sections and a flight of steps.

3.5 to 4.5 miles

Arlington Reservoir Walk – 3.5 miles
A generally easy walk with a shorter or longer option around Arlington reservoir. Gentle hills and some stiles.

Crowhurst Walk – 3.5 miles
A country walk through a nature reserve and ancient woodland, near Crowhurst.

East Hoathly Walk – 3.5 miles
A generally easy walk with some stiles, can be muddy places (depending on weather).

Forest Row Walk – 3.5 miles
A generally easy walk with some gentle hills and stiles.

Harley Shute Walk – 3.5 miles
A generally easy beach and riverbank walk with no stiles, some hilly sections, and a pedestrian bridge over the railway line.

Woods Corner Walk – 3.5 miles
Country walk through woodland, passing follies built by John ‘Mad Jack’ Fuller, Squire of Brightling, 1757-1834.

Buxted Walk – 4 miles
A walk through historic Buxted Park, with a circuit of the Woodland Trust site at Views Wood.

Cock Marling Walk – 4 miles
A country walk starting from Winchelsea station, climbing to a ridge overlooking the Brede valley.

Herstmonceux Castle – 4 miles
A generally easy walk along country lanes and across fields with some stiles.

Peasmarsh Walk – 4 miles

An easy, mostly level walk along country lanes and across fields, with some stiles.

Battle Walk – 4.5 miles

A generally easy walk through woodland with no stiles and some hilly sections. Can be very

muddy.

Blackboys Walk – 4.5 miles

A generally easy walk along country lanes and across fields with a few stiles.

Camber Castle Walk – 4.5 miles

An easy level route, starting from the historic town of Rye with full access for all (non-vehicle) users.

Cowbeech Walk – 4.5 miles

A generally easy walk along country lanes, woodland and across fields with a few stiles.

Rushlake Green Walk – 4.5 miles

A generally easy walk with gentle hills, some stiles and some muddy paths (depending on weather).

Wivelsfield Green Walk – 4.5 miles

A generally easy country walk with gentle hills, some stiles and some muddy paths.

5 – 7 miles

Bishopstone Walk – 5 miles
A generally easy walk with some stiles and long gentle hill, passing through the Ouse Estuary Nature Reserve and Tide Mills.

Bodiam Castle Walk – 5 miles
A generally easy walk with some stiles and some muddy paths (depending on weather).

Pevensey Castle Walk – 5 miles
A generally easy walk passing through the outer walls of the castle, and then the Pevensey Haven.

Robertsbridge – 5 miles
Typical country walk with some hills, stiles and muddy paths (depending on weather).

Barcombe Walk – 5.5 miles
A generally easy walk across fields and along quiet country lanes visiting ‘the three villages of Barcombe’.

Buckhurst Walk – 5.5 miles
A hilly walk through woodland and farmland, passing Buckhurst Manor.

Eridge Walk – 5.5 miles
A country walk with some hilly sections starting at Eridge station, passing near Harrison’s Rocks and the Spa Valley railway.

Rotherfield Walk – 5.5 miles
Typical country walk with hills, some stiles and muddy paths (depending on weather).

Doleham Walk – 6 miles
A country walk to the village of Brede, starting from Doleham station, and returning along the river Brede.

Hadlow Down Walk – 6.5 miles
Typical country walk along lanes and some fields, with some hills and stiles. Paths can be muddy (depending on weather).

Winchelsea Walk – 6.5 miles
A walk from historic Winchelsea through a nature reserve, and along the banks of the Royal Military Canal.

7 – 9 miles

Burwash – 7 miles
More difficult walking including numerous hills, stiles and some muddy paths.

Saxonbury Hill Walk – 7 miles
A more challenging country walk with hills and stiles, around the area north of Rotherfield

Ticehurst Walk – 7 miles
A generally easy country walk along country lanes and woodland with views of Bewl Water.

Mark Cross Walk – 8 miles
More difficult walking across woodland and fields with numerous hills, stiles and some muddy paths.

Crowborough Walk – 9 miles
Typical country walk through fields and woodland with hills, some stiles and muddy paths (depending on weather).
