What to expect at the library from 01 June
Please feel free to come in, sit down, read a book, use a computer, research your family history and relax. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the libraries.
When you visit you will see a number of changes to our layouts and procedures to make sure you can use the libraries safely and move around them easily.
There will be a limit to the number of customers in each library at any one-time so that social distancing measures can be followed. Please be prepared to queue if you need to visit at busier times, which are often the morning, and to avoid disappointment consider booking computers.
As well as changing the layout we have increased cleaning and installed screens at the counters. We have distanced the computers or placed screens between them, and you will see more being installed over the coming weeks.
There are hand sanitiser stations in the library, and you will be asked to use the sanitizer at the front entrance when you arrive. You will also need to wear a face covering, unless exempt, and provide your name and phone number for the NHS Test and Trace programme. As set out in the Privacy Notice, we will keep this information securely and it will only be shared with the NHS Test and Trace programme if we are asked for it.
We are slowly expanding the services available at each library over the summer, please visit your local library webpage for the latest information.
If you have any questions regarding the reopening of libraries or services please contact us online, speak to staff in the library or call 0345 60 80 196.
