Temporary changes to parking during coronavirus (Covid 19)

Covid-19. There are some temporary changes to parking and permits during the coronavirus (Covid 19) outbreak. See the: Temporary changes to parking, webpage for more information.

The information below has been updated for the move into National Lockdown from 5 January. This page will be updated if any other changes are made to parking during the Coronavirus outbreak. Please check it regularly for changes and updates.

Parking restrictions and charges

All parking restrictions apply as normal.
The only exceptions are detailed below.

Parking enforcement

Our enforcement team play an important role in ensuring people park safely and sensibly. This helps to reduce congestion and maintain traffic flow and access for those people that continue to use the roads.

Health and Care workers

There is a UK Government parking pass scheme in place for NHS staff members, health or social care workers, and NHS Volunteer Responders. We recognise these passes when they are being used as described on the (.gov) website: Coronavirus (COVID-19): health, care and volunteer workers parking pass and concessions.

We do not issue these passes, you should contact your employer if you have any questions about them or to apply for one.

As alternative arrangements are in place, we are not issuing any PCT or PCW permits at the moment.

Visitor and hotel permits

To meet the UK Government guidance and ensure we can make our working environments safe for our staff and customers, we have had to make some changes to how we provide our service. From 5 January 2021 visitor and hotel permits will be posted to the address registered on your permit account. This is limited to three books (30 permits) per application. When your application has been approved and the permits paid for online they will be posted. At this current time, we are unable to accept cash payments.

We are sorry for any inconvenience these arrangements might cause you and hope you can understand the reason for this. If you have any questions about applying for permits or need help with an application please telephone us on 01273 335 500 (option 2) or email using either the contact form: parking information or direct email: parking.information@eastsussex.gov.uk
