Registering a birth

Birth registration

You should make arrangements to register as soon as possible after the birth.

Birth registration interviews are in person at our register offices.

  • Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time as there may not be waiting facilities available.
  • Your appointment will take place with social distancing measures in place.
  • You will need to bring a blue or black biro/ball point pen to sign with.
  • We require all visitors to our Register Offices to continue to wear a face covering in public areas and ceremony rooms (unless exempt).
  • Our offices are small, so only those essential to the registration should attend.
