Sheltered housing is housing with support for older people or people with a disability. It is usually managed by your district or borough council or a housing association.
Most sheltered housing consists of a block of flats or group of bungalows with an on-site manager or a 24 hour lifeline call service. It often includes communal areas, such as a lounge, kitchen or garden.
