The last local election for Hastings was held on 5 May 2022.

Following boundary changes in 2016 to 17 ALL seats were contested in 2018. The winning candidates served for four years; the candidates in second place should have retired in 2020, but the elections were deferred until 2021. The successful candidates in the re-scheduled election will serve for 3 years until 2024. The pattern of bi-annual elections for half the seats will continue from 2022.
